Review closure spacing, overlap and gaping on a full-button baseball jersey using an actual sample, intended layer and documented fit checks.
Assess the closure on a worn sample
Lay the closed jersey flat and photograph the button spacing and overlap. Then have a player put it on over the intended undershirt. Look at the spaces between buttons during ordinary standing and reaching. A sample that looks flat on a table can pull at the chest or waist on the wearer.
Distinguish where the issue starts
If the opening appears when the jersey is under tension, measure the garment against the chart and try an appropriate adjacent size. If the issue appears at the same closure position even with adequate room, record the button location and the amount of overlap so the supplier can examine construction. Give photos of the whole front and the affected section with the garment size in the file name.
Approve fit before final graphic alignment
Resolve the closure issue before signing off artwork that crosses the opening. A change to the overlap can alter how the graphic meets. Approve the fully buttoned sample from the front, then record the button layout and artwork version together. Ask for written confirmation before applying a change across the bulk order.
