Custom T-Shirt Quotes: Comparing the Complete Order Cost

A custom T-shirt quotation is meaningful only when its scope is clear. Two unit prices may describe different garments, decoration areas, labels or delivery arrangements. A useful comparison first makes the specifications equivalent, then separates confirmed costs from estimates and unresolved choices.

Give every supplier the same brief

Share the garment reference, requested material information, artwork, placement dimensions and size-by-version quantities. State the destination and required arrival date. If a requirement is optional, label it as an alternative rather than let each supplier decide silently. This makes differences in the offers easier to interpret.

Separate the cost components

Ask whether the offer includes artwork preparation, setup, sampling, garment production, personalization, labels and packing. Request transport costs or a clear statement that they are excluded. Clarify the agreed delivery scope and which destination charges remain outside the offer. Avoid assuming that a familiar shipping phrase resolves every cost without written detail.

Review the schedule and approval assumptions

A quotation may depend on final artwork and sample approval by a particular stage. Compare those assumptions as well as the price. An earlier dispatch estimate does not guarantee an earlier checked arrival. Ask what happens if the size file changes or the sample requires revision, because those events can affect the usable schedule.

Choose with a decision record

Create a comparison table showing specification match, included costs, unresolved questions, sample evidence and final amount. Keep commercial estimates separate from factual garment differences. The best offer is the one that fits the approved requirement and risk level, not necessarily the lowest number displayed above a list of exclusions.

Practical checklist

  • Issue one equivalent specification to suppliers.
  • List inclusions and exclusions explicitly.
  • Compare approval and delivery assumptions.
  • Resolve open questions before choosing an offer.
