SOCCER UNIFORM BUYING GUIDE · InkSportPro
A reliable soccer uniform size roster connects one wearer to the correct jersey size, shorts size and print details. Do not assume a retail-brand size or a player’s age transfers to a custom pattern. Request the measurements for the exact proposed garments before the team completes its order sheet.
Check what the size chart is measuring
Ask whether the chart shows body measurements or finished garment measurements, which units it uses and where each measurement begins and ends. Flat width and full circumference are different quantities. For custom soccer jersey size planning, follow the supplier’s stated method consistently rather than mixing body measurements with a shirt laid on a table. Record the chart revision so an old screenshot cannot silently replace it.
Treat soccer shorts size selection as a separate decision
A player may prefer a different fit through the waist and seat than through the chest. Collect the preferred shorts size in its own column even if the proposed supplier normally packs matching sizes. Ask whether mixed-size sets are available before approving that combination. If a fit sample is available, review movement and comfort with the clothing the player expects to wear underneath; do not infer fit from a model image.

Create one controlled roster
Use a stable row identifier rather than a name alone. Keep the print name, number, jersey size, shorts size, design code and quantity in separate fields. A number such as 07 should be treated as text if the leading zero matters. Ask the roster owner to check duplicate numbers against the relevant competition requirements and to confirm blank reserves explicitly. Share only information needed to produce and distribute the garments.
Resolve exceptions before freezing the list
Flag uncertain measurements, sizes outside the available chart and players who have not responded. Do not quietly replace a missing choice with the most common size. Ask for a stated cutoff and obtain each responsible buyer’s approval. Save a dated version and a change log after approval. If a late change arrives, first confirm whether production can still accept it and whether the cost or schedule changes.
A practical checklist
| Row | Print name | Number | Jersey | Shorts | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A01 | EXAMPLE | 07 | To confirm | To confirm | Awaiting chart |
| R01 | No name | No number | To confirm | To confirm | Reserve |
Questions before you order
Can we use a size chart from another brand?
Use it only as a reference for discussion. Order against the measurements and method for the actual proposed pattern.
Can players choose different top and shorts sizes?
Record the request, but obtain confirmation that mixed-size sets are available before ordering.
Should children’s personal details be added to the production list?
Include only necessary garment and allocation information; avoid dates of birth, addresses and other unnecessary details.
