Choose the print policy before collecting names
Ask the club whether player names are permitted and wanted on this particular uniform. Competition or club policies can differ, especially for younger players; do not infer permission from another team’s shirt. Decide the case style, accents, initials and handling of long names. If names will not be printed, state that explicitly. Leaving the field blank without explanation can be mistaken for incomplete information.

Use distinct columns for wearer identifier, printed name, jersey number, jersey size, shorts size and artwork version. A home and away uniform should link to the same approved identity while remaining separate order lines. Store numbers as text where formatting matters.
